News - June 2007

First off.....We Survived Tahoe!!!!!

Several months of solid work, an over zealous schedule, a psychotic coordinator....and a patient wife. There were a couple of hiccups, which were fairly small - and I dropped the ball with one participant....apologies given. Otherwise......WOW!

We're on for next year, complete with a "fix it list" of improvements to incorporate. But news flash Sacramento "We're on the Map!" And thank God......cause I'm kinda tired right now... :-)

So onward.....This Saturday May 26th from 11AM until...? A meeting and BBQ at our house - with Fred Vail. Fred is the owner of Treasure Isle Recorders in Nashville. With a track record in promoting, managing, producing and recording. Fred has a ton of great stories and information about the music industry. His niche' over the last twenty years has been that of a studio owner - with some producing credits and promoting.

We'll supply the Tri-Tip and Chicken, along with basic drinks. Please bring a side dish or desert. I know that it's Memorial Day weekend, but please RSVP if you can do so. Fred will talk from 11 AM until 12:30 or so then we'll BBQ and play some music. Friends and family are welcome. All the same as last year's BBQ sessions. We'll do some "in the rounds" without a PA this time. Instead of a fee for the event, we'll request a donation to cover Fred's expenses with a $20 per member target.....but pay "if you can" and "be there either way".

Then....Sunday June 3rd, a meeting at our house from 1 - 4. We'll start setting a new direction for the rest of the year. There are several directions left to pursue and a long list of guests who want to come to Sacramento. We'll start lining that out.

Followed by an open mic at Java Cafe on Tuesday June 12th - from 7-10PM. The usual.....Java Cafe' at the corner of Fair Oaks and Madison.....yadda..yadda....yadda....be there!

So enough for now......I'm still on auto-pilot from the work part of the Tahoe Event. But the pain is offset by having pulled it off (with thanks to many, many helpers). So I'll quit whinning now, and just enjoy the moment..... Take Care Everybody.....
