News - July 2007

So has anyone seen any really scary firestorm videos lately???

Beckett and I were up there Tuesday and actually got caught up in an evacuation from the Keys. The house is still fine, but this whole thing is getting really weird. I'm trying to put my arms around the meaning......"We put on a huge event there, and one month later the city burns down...?" I guess that I'd better leave that whole notion alone.

Now our schedule.

Tonight - Thursday June 28th. A co-write session at my house, from 7-10PM or so. Since Tahoe is over (the event that is..) we're into new territory. Picking who you want to co-write with. Everyone is still welcome, first timers or nervous Nellies might be put together, but it's still great to participate. I'm going to talk to Dave Baldwin about adding a page to the website for a quick reference of co-writers looking for certain styles and interests - complete with email contact info.

Monthly meeting....Sunday July 8th from 1-4PM, at my house. We'll do song critiquing, and study some songwriting elements. Bring new songs....bring new songs.....yadda' yadda' yadda..... :-)

Our seasons first group gathering BBQ!!!! Saturday July 14th from 1PM until the paddy wagon arrives. This is a "guitar pull and BBQ" well supply the Tri-Tip and Burgers &&&. Please bring side dishes or deserts (or specialty dishes). No PA this time, we'll do it like we did in Tahoe. Casual performing, like we did at the food house. Family's are invited, the pool will be open (self supervised ) there will be plenty of duct tape from misbehaving kids....and adults.... :-) These BBQ's will be replacing the open mic as our place to play live, I still like this option much better. Bring your spouses, kids, whatever.....Just get involved!

Then on Thurday July 19th we'll do another group co-write night at my place. As always, from 7-10. This will be our Summer routine.

For those of you who have sent me emails that I never responded to, I'm not ignoring you! I still haven't caught up from Tahoe, then all this other stuff started happening. I should be back in my groove in a week or two, I know that I dropped the ball on contacting 8 or 10 of you. My apologies, I'm just tired and running behind right now. My last surviving brain cell is really trying it's best!
