News - December 2007

The most common question right now is....."where the hell is Larry?"

The guy that always bothered you with way too many emails, events and requests......... Well the answer breaks down into two simple words....."busy" and "grumpy". Busy - for obvious reasons, dealing with showing our house, dealing with realtors (yuk!) and we did a Nashville trip to start looking seriously at houses. And "grumpy" because of all of the above! Besides that element, it's kind of strange - but once you make up your mind to commit to a step this big, it's hard to wait for it to happen. I've been grumpy as hell (just ask Beckett) I'm suppose to be there already!...... Well, that's what the voices are telling me anyways...

Due to the fact that we have to keep the house in "show condition" there won't be any gatherings this month. My apologies for that. I've been talking with my replacement, Kurt, and I really feel that you guys are in good hands with him at the helm as coordinator. I sure that things will change.... as they should - change is a good thing. So now that I've whimped out on you for the better part of a month, there's only a few things to add. David Keys is doing his Crest Theatre mental health group event again. This is a great cause and event.......Do get behind it and support David!

The 4rth Annual Mental Health Concert at the Crest Theatre happens Friday, December 7, at 7 pm. Featuring comedy, music, magic, dance and poetry, this benefit is a family event.

A new guitar signed by members of PAPA ROACH will be raffeled.
Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
If anyone has a financial hardship, you get in FREE, Including friends, family, etc.

The Crest Theatre is at 1013 K Street Mall, Sacramento, 95814.
Contact me for ticket purchases or Marilyn Hillerman at 875-5644 or the Sacramento Mental Health Association at 366-4600.

Come & support a great cause and enjoy an early holiday concert!!
Any questions, contact me.

In the "other news" column.... our dear friend Dottie Lentine had a little accident. She took a spill and broke her hip. She's doing well at home recovering......but we all wish her the best. So now besides being sarcastic and such (like me) she has a bum hip.....like me. If she and I are in the same room you might want to run! Get well soon Dottie.... :o)

Beckett and I will be out of town for a few days, we're going on the Texas Songwriters Cruise. It's our first time on this one and we're looking forward to it. You can reach me by cell phone, should you have the need - (916) 214-4800. And our son Neil will be staying at the house - he can reach us too. We'll let you know if this event is very good or not. Check it out at www.txsongwriterscruise.com.

As soon as (or, if we ever) get our house under contract, we're do a final gathering or two. There's several new people recently who've never attended anything - and here I am winding things down on my watch. I've had three great years with you folks.....I'm going to miss it. As always, my thanks to all of you who participated in everything and made these times something we'll remember in a wonderful way. I'll still be helping the group from Nashville.....plus there will be a Tahoe '08 event!

Should I happen to not speak to you before.....have a great holiday season. You're not just our partners in lunacy.... you're our friend. We truly want the best for all of you. May Shirley smile on you during the holidays and in the new year..... :o) ......inside joke.
