Hey Everyone!

I hope everyone's spring is turning out well, and sneeze free. So much pollen, so little time.

Our meeting this month will be Sunday May 17th. It will be from 1pm to 4pm at our usual spot, the art gallery next to the Coffee Garden. The address of the Coffee Garden is 2904 Franklin Blvd, Sacramento Ca 95818. The gallery is on the corner of the street. You will see a NSAI Meeting Sign on the door.

Well this month we have a few things planned.
First, we are going to try to answer all your home recording questions.
I have been recording music for about 30 yrs now,{yes I'm old}. I started off making 45's and now I make Cd's and Mp3's. As I get older the recording technology gets faster, so I am basically trying to keep up, kind of like a lot of you. Sometimes I feel like I'm driving a go cart on a Nascar track, but at this point in my life I'm just happy to still be driving. I can't promise I will be able to answer all your questions, but I will try. I know a few of you have some recording experience, so this will be kind of a group effort.

Second, I want to go over Demo's.
I have a few samples from some demo houses in Nashville I will play. If you have a great demo you would like to share, please bring it in. We all know the song has to be great, but the demo better sell it! Sorry to say but it has to be {Radio quality} now a day's. Even if it's just Guitar/Vocal, it better be clean. I will try to dig up some of my old demo's that got me record deals. This should be pretty entertaining. I will try to go over what do's and don't you want to consider when demoing your song.

Third, we will have our critique session.
My shooter{Camera man} from KCRA will be there for this part of our session, unless there is breaking news. He will want to interview a few of you, and shoot our session. So this is your chance to help me expand our group by telling all of Sacramento what NSAI Sac has done for you! The piece I have been working on for the show Common Ground, has been an on going adventure. I am doing this on my own time, calling in all my favors, and basically losing my mind trying to put this 4 min piece together, but I believe you are all worth it!

The goal with this piece is to Expand the group. I want all of Sacramento to know there is a great group of musician/songwriters here in this group who are dedicated to getting heard by Nashville and everyone else.

So I hope to see you all this Sunday the 17th.
