Hey Everyone!

I would like to start out by apologizing for not making the Aug. meeting, but I had to go back to Detroit because my Father passed away. I would like to thank Gab for taking over. I heard she did a great job,but that's why she's co-coordinator of our chapter. I believe we are all lucky to have her in this chapter.

Our meeting this month will be Sunday Sept.13th It will be from 1pm to 4pm at our usual spot, the art gallery next to the Coffee Garden. The address of the Coffee Garden is 2904 Franklin Blvd, Sacramento Ca 95818. The gallery is on the corner of the street. You will see a NSAI Meeting Sign on the door.

I would like to continue to try to point out current trends in Country music, so I am going to rip apart the songs that Gab didn't get to last meeting. If you want to write Modern Country you need to analyze what's going on NOW in Country music an curb your writing toward it. This is why I rip apart the songs that are on the charts NOW.

I know some of you are in the beginning stages of writing or just kind of floating between hobby an {can I really do this} an just want to come to these meetings to play your songs. I will always encourage that, but I want everyone to understand I am hear to help the serious songwriters first.

The ones who write an re write their songs until they are the best they can be. The ones who sacrifice there time, $ , effort knowing an praying that somewhere down the line they will get that cut or that deal. I know what it like to sign deals an I know what it's like to get dropped.I have been to the mountain an have been pushed the F off more than once.

I'm still climbing!
How about you?
